Magnetism is defined as a phenomenon produced by a moving electric charge which results in forces of attraction and repulsion. This course explores the concept of force and exposes students to the use and application of magnetism in daily life.

This course explores magnetism. It will see the student defining magnets, learning about the history of their discovery and about forces of attraction and repulsion. It directs the student to look at contact and non-contact forces, the history of the compass and how we can tell if a material is magnetic or not. During the course the student will learn about magnetic fields and the ways you can see it. The concept of electromagnets will also be discussed.
This course comprises of six lessons and is designed for students in grades 4 to 6. Education meets fun through several pieces of interactive content dispersed throughout the various lessons. It introduces the student to the subject of field line and the process of mapping them. At the end of this course the student should have a better understanding of the magnetic field, the field of force as well as magnetism and the types of magnets and their uses and application in everyday life.
